Phenobarbital is often a barbituric acid derivative and takes place as white, odorless, little crystals or crystalline powder that may be very somewhat soluble in drinking water; soluble in alcohol, in ether, and in answers of preset alkali hydroxides and carbonates; sparingly soluble in chloroform.
